Well, they don't really celebrate Mardi Gras here but I had a craving for a king cake. So I went down to World Market and bought their mix for making a king cake. I have to say it was pretty good. It had everything I needed (the baby, the sprinkles, the glaze, the filling). I did however mess up a little on the recipe. I didn't flatten it out long enough before I rolled it so I got an semi-circular king cake that was thicker in the middle. But now I know for next time.

I thought about making one too and even googled "homemade king cake recipe", but didn't see anything that looked too easy. A mix would have been great. I think I'll have to get a mix next year or an authentic one delivered to us.
